You’ve probably waited a long time to enter your name in the search box to find a file in Windows. The more folders and files you have, the longer this waiting is getting.Everything is a search tool that fundamentally solves this old inconvenience.
The way it works is simple but powerful.Instead of reaching behind the file content, it indexes the NTFS file system’s master file table directly. Thanks to hundreds of thousands of files, the search results appear almost instantly. When you enter a name with a letter, the results change in real time, you will understand why this program has been loved for a long time.
The functionality does not end in a single search window. It supports advanced search using regular mode, filtering by size and date, sharing with the network and using the same index on other devices. The program itself is lightweight and can only be written as an executable file without installation.
A disadvantage is that it is optimized for NTFS drives, which can result in poor performance on other file systems, but this one strength has left many people completely out of the browser’s default search functionality.
If you need to search for files often, Everything is a tool that you shouldn’t miss at the time of installation.
