Switches have several ways to transmit data.
Store-and-Forward, Cut-thorugh and Frgament Free
The biggest difference is how far it goes.
And depending on the scope of storage, the error detection is determined.
Below in the switch data transmission, we have cleared up each mode, so it is good to compare.
Store-and-Forward
Receive and save the entire frame to decide the output port
Through CRC testing, the error frame is removed.
Latency as well.
Cut-through
Save the frame's destination address and check it to determine the output port.
A fire of judgment.
Latency is small.
Fragment Free (Modified Cut-through)
Examination and delivery.
Store and forward and cut through.
When the first 64Byte part is transmitted, the switch process starts.
Most of the problems occur in the first 64Byte, so the error also takes a part.
