In the end, X announced that it would stop the existing revenue-sharing approach and introduce a new scheme called the "Original Content Reward Program".
Current revenue-sharing members will remain earning as they are until September 7, but will have to pass the new criteria after that.
The key is simple. Now only original content is recognized. Ideas, professionalism, reporting, creativity, meaningful commentary. These things become the standard. On the contrary, simple rehearsals, re-uploads, minor modifications can no longer make a profit. To qualify for a premium sub-crédit subscription, of course, more than 500 certified followers, up to 500,000 exposure certificates within 90 days are required.
To be honest, I think it’s obvious on the platform.
I also use AI to upload YouTube videos, create apps, and write articles, but I don’t take someone else’s content from the beginning. I’m going to get rid of my own SW, video, philosophy, and what I want to do with it.
The biggest problem is that when someone says something that’s not true, or when someone says something that’s not true, everyone pretends and writes as if they’ve been interested in the subject from the outset.
Ironically, people like this content at first and eventually give up on what they see.
I also started X to get quick, accurate information and insights.I wrote it almost exclusively for screening, but at some point the level of writing on the timeline drops noticeably, or I see the same stories all the time, so I rarely look in these days.
Of course, there will be some people who will not think about this policy change, but from a platform point of view, it’s understandable. It’s costly to store so much data on a server. But if that content doesn’t help AI learning, and it doesn’t make any difference to content created by other users, then there’s no reason to share money with them.
After all, this announcement is not just a policy change, but a declaration that covers “real content” and “contained content”.
For Lex, this is painful news, but I think it was a necessary step to maintain the platform’s credibility.
